Discover Nature

Listen to talks by knowledgeable naturalists and academics, debate current issues in conservation, sustainability and medicine or take time out to watch a nature documentary film. Explore the natural world
through “hands-on” science workshops. At Micrographia, you can investigate the microscopic world of insects, plants, fungi and pond-life, as well as learn about the wonderful, rare and varied flora & fauna that make their home in Merthyr Mawr National Nature Reserve. Immerse yourself in nature with walks in the forest and sand dunes .

Creative Arts

Ever since early humans walked the Earth, they have created art to decorate, communicate and adorn.
There are workshops for all ages where you can make natural ephemeral land art or enjoy a masterclass session in watercolour and sketching with one of our artists in residence.
At the Creative Area, the brilliant creative arts team make art accessible for all ages. Using natural flora and resources found around the festival site, they create stunning mandalas and floral head-dresses.
